Wednesday Watersports & Building community
A story about building a community on the water. I pondered for a brief moment, I imagined that this is how the Egrets feel.... Wings spread wide, gliding and slicing through the air, the tips of their wings mirroring the delicate fingertips of a ballerina. Tension rising and falling between the water surface and their aerodynamic bodies with every slight shift of the wind. I hiked out, attached to a precarious trapeze wire on the side of a cumbersome plastic catamaran harnes

I shadowed a Forest School Here is what I learned
Imagine yourself at 8 years old in your school uniform, the smell of wet paper towels and floor cleaner hanging in your nose. But instead of sitting in the confines of a miniature plastic chair, white walls and aggressive LED lights, your bottom rests on the softening bark of a fallen winter tree. Your eyes are softly greeted with shades of moving green as a light breeze blows softly across your face. Imagine what possibility for exploring the world and oneself that might off

I did the course to develop my coaching skills so I could better analyse climbing movements and techniques and be a better coach for my clients. Continual professional development is vital in an

Some might seem trivial but they can be so helpful to make your day run without a hitch. 1- Pocket-sized sun cream. This one is my personal favorite but I am sure there are plenty on the market that will do the trick. I apply my suncream -factor 50- in the morning from a tube and deal with the white sheen on my face

4 lessons after (almost) 1 Year of Freelance instructing
A brief background, before I started freelancing I was working at a climbing wall and working a season at an outdoor center in The New Forrest. I decided after a few months that the season wasn’t for me and I needed a new challenge. I had met some incredible freelancers from walls and in the activity centers and I wanted to give it a go. I took the risk to leave my outdoor job and only going back to the wall for 2 days a week to see if I could make it work. I had a CWI, PSI,
